I agree, the idea that...So much truth in this post. I agree, the idea that only the deserving (or the faithful) get what they want is horrific. That self-blame is terrible, but it's awful when others direct it at you, too (why didn't you try this? why didn't you adopt this way? why did you stop? it's not too late, why aren't you...), even if it's meant to be "helpful." It makes you feel unfinished somehow, but I love your steps for banishing negative thoughts. There can be no rhyme or reason to why things just don't work out, and it is not a judgement on our character. At least it shouldn't be.
