I like quotes. I’ve been collecting them for years, since my first loss when I was alerted to the Gertrude Stein quote “the answer is there is no answer.” I’m thinking of doing a series on quotes.
I recently came across this:
“Things turn out best for people who make the best out of the way things turn out.”
John Wooden
It reflects the approach of almost all the bloggers who have
no children after infertility. We didn’t choose the way things turn out. But
we’re embracing it – making the best out of the way things turn out. And hopefully helping those who come after us. I’m proud
of us all.
mhmmm, what about "In the end it (/everything?) will be OK. If it's not OK it's not the end."
ReplyDeleteNo idea where or who it is from. Sometimes it inspired me, sometimes it makes me feel hopeless.
Sometimes too our definition of what's OK changes. I think that helps us accept it's OK. And make the most of it.
DeleteI would love a series of quotes! One of my favorites is a quite popular Eleanor Roosevelt quote, but I still love it. "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." I loved it before infertility and it feels even more applicable now.
ReplyDeleteThis is timely for me. I too love collecting quotes, especially ones like this. They help remind me that happiness is a continual journey on a road littered with pitfalls.
ReplyDeleteThat's good one. :)
ReplyDeleteI like that one.
ReplyDeleteLOVE quotes and LOVE this one, too. Thanks for sharing. Never heard it before. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like that quote though I had to read it several times, as if I were in Alice in Wonderland and the meaning of the words kept shifting on me :-)
ReplyDeleteLove it!
